Our next Lupus Brighton and Hove event will be on Friday 3rd May 2013, when a group of us will be going to the Lunchtime Meditation at the Buddhist centre . This is at:
The Bodhisattva Buddhist Centre,
3, Lansdowne Road,
We will meet there at 12.00pm to make sure we can get a seat. The meditation session costs £1.50. If you want to stay for lunch afterwards in the vegetarian cafe, it costs £2.50.
As the Meditation and lunch is only about £5.00 altogether, we agreed at our last meeting that we’d pay for this ourselves.
Here is a brief outline of what their website says to expect from the class:
Classes are suitable for both beginners and more experienced meditators. Anyone can practice meditation and everyone is welcome to attend. We meditate sitting on chairs to ensure that everyone is comfortable. There is no physical exercise involved.
The general structure of the class
- Short Buddhist prayers to prepare for meditation
- Simple guided meditation
- Teaching on an aspect of Buddhist meditation
- Another meditation and questions & answers
- After the class everyone is welcome to stay for light refreshments.
Anyone from the group is welcome to come along. We look forward to seeing you there.
