Lupus Research

In May 2012 Dr Sandra Sacre attended our coffee and chat meeting and talked about research that they are doing at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, to increase the understanding of the factors that maintain chronic inflammation in autoimmunity. In particular, they are interested in the role of toll-like receptor signalling in rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. At the moment the website is more focused on their work in rheumatoid arthritis as this has been ongoing for about 10 years, but as the new lupus project develops they hope to add more details about Lupus and their findings to their lupus research page on the Brighton and Sussex Medical School website.
