The first coffee and chat of 2013 in our new venue got off to a great start with eleven people attending. We were also pleased to welcome three new members to our group.

Among the many things we talked about, were ideas for events and days out that we could do together. One suggestion was to hold a garden party in the summer at which we could also sell cakes to raise money.

Two of our new members have also very kindly offered to make some new, larger Lupus Brighton and Hove posters  to advertise our group and to raise awareness about lupus SLE. We then plan to get some printed and display them around town eg. Jubilee libary, Worthing Hospital, Sussex County Royal Hospital and GP’s surgeries.  In this way, we hope we’ll reach more people in the area, who have lupus and who may need support.

Finally, we asked ,”What people would most like to get, from coming to the group?” answers were: “friendship” and “being able to meet people who understand what its like to live with lupus, without having to explain.”
